What color can I paint my living room?
I would like to refresh my living room, but am having trouble with the paint color. The floors are a honey oak color, couches are transitional style, in a medium brown color. My accent furniture is oak, and the window treatment is cream.
The trouble is, I have these gorgeous paintings that I would love to keep where they are. They are multicolored landscapes with gold frames. Our walls are currently sponge painted in various shades of gold and beige, and the closet doors and ceiling are a very pale gold/deep cream color. I think that a lighter color on the ceiling and trim would open the room up, but am unsure as to what color would work well.
If it helps, the LR has a wide opening to the kitchen, which is painted a soft coffee color with a red accent wall.
THANKS
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "dutch tile blue" (# 0031) might be a good choice.
You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
