Building a bed, have i done it wrong?
Basically its a king size - you've got the two edges of the bed and a kind of supporting bar running through the middle (from centre of headboard to centre of footboard) the slats go either side of this bar all the way down...
The slats are kindof bent like a bannana and ive put them in so that the mattress is resting on them the way they want to bend - is this right, it means ive got a high spot the middle of my bed!!
cheers
I was being a dinlo, its all good now thanks for your help
Your description puzzles me. Every bed frame I've seen has two rails running along the long side from headboard to footboard. Some king size beds also have another rail running down the middle (like you describe) with an extra support leg in it's center. I have never seen slats cantilevered on only a center rail. What keeps them from flipping from one side or the other when you sit on the edge of the mattress? This might be some avant-garde design where the slats are rigidly attached to the rail and support the outer rim of the mattress, but I would bet that they would need to be positioned so that the ends are higher on the outside and the low point is in the center. That way, when you load them by placing the mattress on them, they flatten out. Doesn't this creation have directions? Can you contact the manufacturer to be sure you have all the parts?
