How do you repair the finish of a dark wood finish that has been scraped?
my puppy just chewed on the wood trim on my couch (more modern style couch with the wood trim at the bottom)...the wood is a dark finish that doesnt show the grain of the wood like you would see on oak cabinets...almost like a paint on it....anything i can buy to fix it like a clay or putty that i can smooth it over then paint it over...its just splintered no deep chew or teeth marks...thanks guys.
Wood putty first choice, but if it's a spot that gets a lot of bumping, Bondo....yes, good old red-neck Bondo. It will stay put. Shape as best you can while it's pliable, then sand when dry and paint/stain to match. First, make a little glob of bondo or wood putty... let it dry. ..then test your color finish on it so you'll have it right for your sofa. I recently did some remodeling and had to repair old door-ways..we used wood putty in small areas, Bondo in larger or often bumped areas....looks great..
