Where should I put my large guinea pig cage?
I still live with my parents, so they won't let me put it in the living room. It is a kiddie pool, and the only spot I can think of is my closet. It is a large open space with a light and a slide door. I leave the slide door open for my piggy so it can look around and doesn't just see the closet. However, I don't have any room for my clothes now! I have a lot of clothes, and a dresser won't fit them all. The only other place I can put my clothes is under my bed in storage bins, but it's annoying having to slide the boxes in and out all the time whenever I need to pick out an outfit, especially since their heavy and my bed is low to the ground. Any suggestions as to where else I can put it? It's a big cage, but I don't want to get a smaller one because my guinea pig is very happy with the extra space, and guinea pigs require a lot of room.
Guinea Pigs don't go in a garden ^_^ They love attention inside - and room like you said!

I know you already have the kiddie pool as the cage - but you may REALLY want to consider this. For someone with not a lot of space, C&C cages are best - and they are best for your pig.
If you have one little girl all you need is one box of the grids (pick them up at Target/Walmart), cable ties, and coroplast. Actually, in place of the coroplast you MAY be able to use that kiddie pool depending on the size - if not FedEx Kinko's sells it really cheap.
When we had one big I had a 2 grid by 3 grid cage that was off the floor - I made cubes for the bottom. We store his food and stuff down there but also some other things like blankets in bags and what not. It's great to store stuff - we keep our extra grids there too.
It would be a cheap solution and your parents might help you out with the money.
If you really cannot get another cage perhaps consider reorganizing your room. Perhaps that would make room on the floor. Or - put the kiddie pool on a large table or some sort of makeshift table. Perhaps get those milk crate type plastic crates (sold at Meijer/Target/organization stores) and set it up on that. You can put stuff under it for storage and the crates can help you organize.
Also - consider getting bed risers for your bed! They have them at trget they are under 10 dollars - they are plastic stands that raise your bed 6-10 inches depending on what kind you buy. We got them for my boyfriend's sister's apartment and they work really well. This would give you some extra storage space as well.
Good luck I hope you find a good solution.
